Join in the harvest, make an impact.
The 2023 season is now closed.
Become a member of our fruit picking program! Our program is made possible thanks to thousands of people across Toronto, contributing as fruit pickers, tree registrants, and storage partners.
How the program works
When a tree owner in our service area can’t keep up with their harvest, we mobilize a volunteer team to pick the fruit, and then split the bounty three ways: 1⁄3 to the tree registrant, 1⁄3 split amongst to the volunteers, and 1⁄3 is donated to one of our ur social service agency partners. We deliver fruit to agencies via cargo bike to reduce our impact on the environment and demonstrate that a low-carbon food distribution model is possible. At times pick leaders will use public transit or their own vehicles to transport fruit and equipment.
Any additional fruit above and beyond what our agency partners have capacity for is directed towards revenue-generating partnerships, such as collaborations with local breweries or hosting food skills workshops.
