Felix Mills
Picking Program Coordinator
Hi, there! I’m thrilled to be a part of the inspiring Not Far From The Tree team where my passions for community-building, environmental sustainability, and cycling advocacy all come together. I come from a background of music and non-profit arts management, with a focus on community engagement and bringing people together for positive shared experiences. I look forward to a season of combating food waste and connecting with our wonderful community of members, pickers and partners as we safely come together to spread awareness of Toronto’s urban orchard and provide for those in need!
Jessica Akiwi
Picking Program Assistant
Hello my name is Jessica Akiwi, like the fruit! Obsessed with all things related to food sovereignty, the NFFTT organization is an innovative and sustainable community which I am excited to be a part of this summer! After spending the last few years working as a Coordinator in different Food advocacy organizations such as Food Cooperatives, Food Banks and Farmers Markets in the GTA and internationally, I look forward to sharing my experience and hope to learn more about all things Fruit! As an avid outdoor enthusiast, I enjoy bike rides, farmers markets, long hikes, gardening, and soon fruit picks!
John Gould
Communications Assistant
Hi! My name is John Gould and I am committed to engaging with people in new and exciting ways in order to create positive social and environmental change. My background is in researching the communicative barriers to climate change mitigation. I also have experience running my own small-scale upcycling business and working as a graphic designer. I am ecstatic to be a part of NFFTT this season and raise as much awareness about the role Toronto’s urban orchard plays in reducing food waste and abating climate change.
Leaf the work to us!
