Ready to get your hands dirty?
Volunteers are vital to the success of Not Far From The Tree’s programs. Each year, hundreds of amazing folks contribute their skills, energy and passion to help out in the field, at community events, and behind-the-scenes. We strive to create meaningful, action-oriented opportunities that will benefit the project, volunteers, and most of all, the communities we serve.
Here are some ways you can get involved:
If you’d like to pick fruit with us, just create an account and tell us where you’d like to pick. We’ll let you know when we’re looking for volunteers in those areas, between late June to October. Remember, you can sign into your account anytime at app.notfarfromthetree.org to see upcoming picks and sign up.
Become a Supreme Gleaner
What’s a Supreme Gleaner you ask? They’re specially trained volunteers who lead fruit picks, and transport fruit and equipment by cargo bike. Perfect for those who love bike-riding and meeting new people – or for those who want to take fruit-picking to the next level!
Join the Cider Squad
Members of the Cider Squad will join us in parks, community events, and farmer’s markets throughout the summer and at our Annual City Cider celebration on Sunday September 17th, 2017 at the Spadina House Museum. As part of the Cider Squad, you will have the magical ability to turn apples into delicious cider!
Volunteer in Other Ways
We’re always looking for volunteers to help out – whether it’s for special events like our annual fundraiser City Cider, distributing flyers, or connecting with the public at community events. Just fill out our form and we’ll keep you up-to-date on all the latest opportunities.
