Do you have a fruit tree that needs to be picked?
Not Far From The Tree is happy to help you with that. We pick trees on a variety of properties. As long as you are the property owner or have permission from the properly owner, we’ll gladly harvest your fruit. Once you register your tree with us, we’ll mobilize a team of volunteers to harvest the fruit when it’s ripe. The harvest is then split three ways: 1/3 is offered to you, 1/3 is shared among the volunteers, and 1/3 is delivered by bicycle to local food banks, shelters, and community kitchens. Step 1: Register your tree
Have you already registered your tree? If so, skip to Step 2. If this is your first time registering, please click the button below and fill out the form. Right now, we pick trees in 14 of Toronto’s 44 city wards. Even if your tree is outside of our operating area, please register anyways. We’re always growing, and we’ll let you know if we start picking in your neighbourhood!
Step 2: Schedule your fruit pick
3-5 days before your tree is ready to be picked, please click the button below and fill out the form to schedule your fruit pick. You’ll be asked to provide preferred dates and times when our volunteer group can come pick your tree. To learn more about when your tree is ripe for picking, take a look at our Fruit Ripening Guides.
Please note that because we are a volunteer-based organization, although we do our best to get to every fruit, there are some instances where we can’t make it. Rest assured that we’ll do our very best to pick your fruit and share it with the community!
