Not Far From The Tree is hiring for the Summer!

Are you our next Program Coordinator?

We’re looking for 3 enthusiastic Program Coordinators to help organize and lead fruit picks in Toronto this season. You’ll be responsible for leading physically-distanced and safe fruit picks in our operating area.  Currently, we operate in the downtown core, south of Eglinton, east of Jane, west of Victoria Park, and north of the waterfront. This year, we are expanding into Etobicoke (Royal York, The Gardiner and Dundas) and into Scarborough (Birchmount, St. Clair East, to the Bluffs).

You’ll be responsible for leading volunteers at fruit picking! You’ll ensure equipment is properly stocked and sanitized, liaise with fruit pickers and tree registrants, and assist partner agencies in receiving fruit deliveries. This job is remote in that you will be working from various pick sites across our operating area in Toronto, travelling by cargo bike or other modes of transportation. This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable working outside for extended periods and travelling by bike to get to various locations across our operating area.

Are you our next Communications Officer?

We’re seeking a creative, skilled communicator for the position of Communications Officer to help generate content and graphics across NFFTT’s communications channels including social media, print materials, and website. Working with the Project Team, you’ll produce engaging communication content that highlights the activities, achievements and stories of NFFTT’s fruit picking program and community events. You’ll help promote NFFTT programs and events, engage our constituents and boost follower engagement.

How to Apply: Please send a PDF resume, cover letter and your portfolio materials to pickme@notfarfromthetree.org with “Communications Assistant” or “Program Coordinator” in the subject line. The deadline for applications is May 18th, 2022 at 11:59pm.
