Stuffed cherries and skewers on the BBQ, a rooftop garden, the hot sun and cold cider, fantastic people and high spirits – it all adds up to an amazing Season Launch Party!
Thank you to all who came out to party with Not Far From The Tree. We had a lot to celebrate including our Blossom Watch project; the successful completion of our first ever crowdfunding campaign where we raised over $6000 (exceeding our goal by more than $2000!); and of course, the launch of our 2013 picking season which is proving to be a banner harvest so far!
High above the city streets we did the summer proud! Here are some mouthwatering photos from the party…
Ruby Watchco whipped up palate-pleasing deep-fried stuffed cherry bombs
416 Snack Bar served up delicious BBQ pork and apple skewers
Did we mention the skewers?
We had sweet sweet cupcakes from Prairie Girl Bakery
A bar stocked with cool drinks, including ice-cold cider from West Avenue Cider Company
And mulberry gelato from SOMA Chocolatemaker made with Toronto-picked mulberries!
For more party photos, check out our Flickr album. Thanks to photographers Danielle Rosenthal, Maria Miranda, Robyn Cauchy and Paula Wells for their contributions.
From the bottom of our hearts, we would like to extend our thanks to those who made our Season Launch Party and crowdfunding campaign possible:
Lora Kirk of Ruby Watchco, 416 Snackbar, SOMA Chocolatemaker, Prairie Girl Bakery, West Avenue Cider Company, 401 Richmond, Bellwoods Brewery, Mama Earth Organics, Micah Lexier, Zeesy Powers and Crucial Pins; and our celebrity fruit pickers: Damian Abraham, David Miller and Jennifer Keesmaat.
A HUGE thank you goes out to our superstar volunteer team and our campaign backers!
And a very special thank you to the amazing Whelena Sainsbury, our crowfunding creator and guru.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!
