Paul W Thompson was born and raised in Brampton, Ontario before moving to the big city and earning his Bachelor of Design from OCAD. Majoring in Environmental Design, Paul focused on the role process plays in designing our built landscapes and how combining architecture with ecology holds promise for integrating sustainable practice within contemporary life.
Through painting Paul gets to explore inner landscapes of thought and emotion while his design work sees him investigating the outer world of ecology and economy. Paul’s early interest in architecture and nature remains strong and the two realms provide ongoing sources of inspiration in all his work.
Currently living in Toronto, Paul works from his studio in Mirvish Village. His work can be seen (and purchased) at the Leslieville Arts Market, a local artisans market in Toronto’s vibrant east end.
Paul has created a work called “Apple of My Eye” for our Artist in Urban Orchard program, which we’ll share on the blog next week! Stay tuned.
