NFFTT is proud to announce that we have been selected as a grant recipient for the TDFEF Common Ground Project.
Thanks to this generous support from TDFEF, we will be able to bring our cider pressing station to 10 events in Toronto’s parks this summer. You may have seen our press last year at the Wychwood Barns Farmer’s Market or our annual City Cider celebration. This season we will be bringing the press to 10 different parks across the city to engage communities in the communal art of cider pressing. We hope to engage over 300 people and put over 500 pounds of apples to good use.
The TD Common Ground Project celebrates the green spaces that we all come together within – whether to relax, meet or play. These spaces are where we find common ground and can connect to nature. TDFEF will be helping to grow and enhance more than 150 community green spaces across Canada in celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday and Montreal’s 375th anniversary.
We are also inviting you to get involved in these events!
We are recruiting for volunteer members of a Cider Squad, a team who will help us lead these cider pressing events. If you’d like to apply for this sweet role, apply here.
Stay tuned for a schedule of cider pressing event this summer!
